about
A garden is a very special thing. No matter what the size, style or particular function they perform, gardens are essentially a reflection of the wild, untamed places in nature...
They are a place of transition, a place where the delicate balance between nature and man-made beauty provides an experience of something that is much bigger and more spacious than our usual human-centric existence.
My approach to design is not at all formulaic. Every person has their own needs and desires and every site has a unique set of requirements so the design that evolves will naturally reflect this.
For this reason, I prefer to work in collaboration with only one client at a time so I can remain completely immersed in a single design and the needs of that particular project.
I have a great love of the Australian bush and its native plants, and prefer to use local species where possible. This way every garden helps to rebuild the natural ecosystem and habitat of the area and in turn will be more resilient and have less requirements when it comes to maintenance and irrigation.
No matter what it’s size, style or function, if it’s well thought out, the experience of a garden will always give back infinitely more than we put into it.
